Delivery – Tug MAHE DE LABOURDONNAIS – July 2001

A rare East African marine asset was seen in Malta on Monday 7th July 2001 fresh from the building yard, the tugboat MAHE DE LABOURDONNAIS entered Grand Harbour, Malta for fuel stop on her maiden call during her delivery voyage.

She was built in Spain at the Astilleros Zamakona shipyard for the Mauritius Government Port Authority under the Lloyd’s classification, before moving to that of Bureau Veritas in February 2007. She’s 26 metres long with 9.3 m beam and has a bollard pull of 45 tons.

She has not been operational since February 2022 and the Mauritius Ports Authority (MPA) has indicated its intention to part with her, the organization has, in fact, launched a call for tenders for her sale.
