Yachting – 65 m yacht LADY M seized in Italy – 04.03.2022

On Friday 4th March, 2022 the 65 metre yacht LADY M owned by  Alexei Mordashov, the richest man in Russia was detained at Imperia Port, Italy by the militarized Police Force Guardia Di Finanza. The move followed similar seizures in France and Germany belonging to other Russian oligarchs, as Western states implement massive sanctions, including asset freezes, to try to force Russia to withdraw from Ukraine.

LADY M was built as Project Stimulus at the American Palmer Johnson shipyard with yard number PJ 264 launched on 13th May, 2013. She’s 65 metres long with 9.5 metres beam and maximum draught of 2.9 metres. With both Aluminium Hull & Superstructure she is powered by two MTU 16V 4000 M93L diesel engines with a combined power of 9,222 hp (6,877 kW) of which she reach a maximum speed of 28 knots. She’s homeported at Georgetown (CYM Flag).

She’s one of 2 yachts owned by Alexei , the other one is the 2020 built 142 metres mega yacht NORD which was heading to Shanghai, China ( ETA on 29th March)
