Libyan Uprising – Journalist GUY MARTIN injured in Libya brought to Malta – 26.04.2011

On Tuesday 26th April, 2011 the British 28 year old photojournalist GUY MARTIN who was injured in a mortar attack in Misurata, Libya, arrived at Grand Harbour, Malta on the Danish cargo ship MARIANNE DANICA which berthed at Pinto 3 Wharf.

A photographer working with Panos Pictures agency, Guy Martin was injured in the same attack which killed two journalists and injured another one on Wednesday 20th April. He was reported to have suffered bowel injury and trauma to his pelvis, causing serious blood loss.

Once the ship was secured a medical team from Mater Dei Hospital led by doctors Dr. Jonathan Joslin & Dr. Michael Spiteri assisted by members of the Civil Protection Department started the medical evacuation.

He was transferred to an ambulance waving his hands and giving the thumbs up sign. which took him to Mater Dei Hospital.

7 freedom fighters and an Ukrainian doctor were also reported killed with 120 people injured in the same attack.
