The Damen newbuilt tug MED VEGA that is owned by MedTug – Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) Towage Division was in Malta for uplifting bunkers and sheltering from Gale Force Winds/Weather. She entered Grand Harbour on Sunday 5th December, 2021 at 1506 hrs coming from Sri Lanka, via Suez Canal.
She was built in Vietnam at the Damen Song Cam Yard as yard no 515016 and she berthed starboard side alongside Gun Wharf, part of Valletta Cruise Port.
Last January Mediterranean Shipping Company (MSC) announced that she’s developing a new harbour towage business. The Geneva based boxline has formed MedTug Antwerp in the Belgian port city where the line already has a terminal investment.
She left on Sunday 12th December at 0738 hrs bound to Bremerhaven, Germany.
