The latest livestock carrier calling at Malta was the 1995 built BISON EXPRESS, one of the 14 Vroon Livestock owned ships around on Friday 10th December at 1301 hrs coming from Jakarta, Indonesia via the Suez Canal.
She was built in the Netherlands by Van Diepen Shipyard at Waterhuizen in 1995 with 4 decks and 3,506 m² cattle and sheep gross pen area with 539m² as deck space fodder with a length overall of 122.08 metres and beam of 15.85 metres.
She was assisted by the local tug VITTORIOSA and berthed at DWQ 4.
Her ETA originally was at 1200 hrs but due to Malta Maritime Pilots Meeting she had to be rescheduled. Also she was planned to leave later at night but due to strong Gale Force Winds it was premature to leave and she left on Sunday 12th December, 2021 at 2001 hrs bound to Wilmington, De, USA.
