Haifa Port – October 2021 Movements

The Port of Haifa  is the largest of Israel’s three major international seaports, the others being the Port of Ashdod, and the Port of Eilat. It has a natural deep water harbor, which operates all year long, and serves both passenger and merchant ships. It is one of the largest ports in the eastern Mediterranean in terms of freight volume and handles about 30 million tons of cargo per year (not including Israel Shipyards’ port).

Here are some of the interesting shipping movements for the month of October, 2021 –

8th October – The US Navy 1999 commissioned Arleigh Burke Class Guided Missile Destroyer USS O’KANE DDG 77 left Haifa after she called on her maiden call from Wednesday 6th October.

18th October – The 1980 built COM flag ro/ro HIZIR AS was seen entering port.

19th October – The 2018 built 366 metre long mother ship COSCO SHIPPING ROSE left Haifa, bound to Suez Canal from the new Chinese Harbour.

23rd October – The 2002 built HKG flag 260 metre container ship SEASPAN DALIAN was spotted leaving Port. She was originally built as the CSCL DALIAN.
