In the morning of Monday 28th June, 1999 a newbuilt tug SAWA entered Grand Harbour, Malta for bunkers and provisions while on her way to Assab Port, Eritrea. She was built at Gorinchem, Netherlands by Damen.
With 25 metres as length (loa) and 8 metres beam she has 198 GRT and 361 DWT. She’s homeported at Assab though during her delivery her homeport was Kingstown at St.Vincent &The Grenadines (VCT Flag) with 2,600 HP as power capacity. Till today she’s still in service in Eritrea with call sign as E3GA.
