The Port of Haifa  is the largest of Israel’s three major international seaports, the others being the Port of Ashdod, and the Port of Eilat. It has a natural deep water harbor, which operates all year long, and serves both passenger and merchant ships. It is one of the largest ports in the eastern Mediterranean in terms of freight volume and handles about 30 million tons of cargo per year (not including Israel Shipyards’ port).

Here is some of interesting shipping movements –

4th July – The 2006 built and 239 metre container ship NAVIOS SUMMER entered Haifa.

14th July – The 2010 built cement carrier BLUE CIMENT 2 left Haifa bound to Yesilovacik, Turkey. She’s a frequent caller with Turkish cement.

And the 1998 built 216 metre long container MSC MARYLENA arrived from Ashdod and she is the first ship to be handled in the Chinese harbor. She was originally built as NORASIA SAVANNAH.

20th Jul – The 2005 built and 272 metre container ship MONTE VERDE exchanged berth with the 1998 built 216 metre MSC EDITH while entering Haifa.

21st Jul – A not newcomer for sure, the 2007 built ISR flag and owned 261 metre container ship ZIM VANCOUVER arrived from Tarragona, Spain

28th July – The 2008 built Greek owned 190 metre long bulker GLOBE TRINCO left the port.

On completion the 2015 built Dutch flag and owned bulker HANZE GENUA entered port bound for Dagon Silo for discharging her cargo.

31st July – The 2010 built Cypriot flag and owned bunkering tanker IRIS left port for bunkering operations.
