The second ropax from Corsica Lines to call at Palumbo Malta Shipyard was the 1998 built JEAN NICOLI. She entered Grand Harbour, Malta on Saturday 11th January, 2020 in the morning around 0955 hrs 4 days after the first ropax PASCAL PAOLI left the yard.
She was built in 1998 by Fosen Mek Verksteder A/S, Norway for Minoan Lines, Greece trading as PASIPHAE until 2002 where she was renamed to PASIPHAE PALACE until 2009 where she was sold to Societe Nationale Maritime Corse Mediterranee (SNCM) on 19th January, 2009 and was renamed to JEAN NICOLI while being drydocked at Elefsis Shipyards in Greece. She made her last departure from Greece to Marseille on 24th April 2009. Under SNCM did the Ajaccio-Porto Torres route and when the SNCM defunct the ship was sold to Corsica Linea in 2017. Her livery was changed and the ship was sent over to Palumbo Malta Shipyard for scrubbers installation.

As a ropax she’s 200.65 metre long with 25 metres as beam and maximum draught of 6.8 metres. She has 3 ramps – two for vehicles one for passengers and can carry 1,000 cars with 1,500 passenger capacity doing a speed of 26.4 knots
Finalising her scrubber installation during 7/8th March as seen in above images, she left the yard after Friday 13th March, 2020.
