Another MSC Crociere liner that was seen twice in 2021 at Palumbo Malta Shipyards (Leaving on 9th April and 6th May) once again the 15 year old lady MSC MUSICA entered Grand Harbour on 8th May at 0707hrs this time for drydocking inside Dock 6.
MSC MUSICA is the leading ship of her class – built in 2006 by Chantiers de l’Atlantique, France as yard number Q 32. She was launched on 15th October, 2005 and completed in 2006 with 2,550 passenger capacity. In November 2021 she’s expected to return to South Africa joining the 2003 built MSC LIRICA who will be enjoying her maiden season there. MSC MUSICA will be operating mostly from Durban and the MSC LIRICA from Cape Town, although they’ll switch around for a bit.
She left Grand Harbour on Thursday 27th May at 1115 hrs after completing her $ 40 million refurbishment including new scrubbers bound to outside Grand Harbour (O/GH) for compass adjustment of which the Miggiani Offshore utility boat UNDAUNTED embarked the designated personnel.
On completion she headed to Bunkering Area 3 for uplifting bunkers and on Friday 28th May she completed around 0729 hrs and left within territorial waters (wtw) bound to Augusta, Sicily.
