For the second time within the first quarter of 2021 the 2009 built cruise liner MSC SPLENDIDA called at Palumbo Malta Shipyards, this time for drydocking at Dock 6 entering Grand Harbour at 0632hrs on Sunday 18th April, 2021.

She was assisted by 1 tug SEA SALVOR on her stern to guide her into the drydock. Also the liner MSC MUSICA was berthed alongside Parlatorio Wharf.

Movement had to be done on arrival since that day there were 2 other cruise liners to enter and berth at Valletta Cruise Port Pinto Wharves.

In normal times, MSC SPLENDIDA would have had to go drydock in autumn 2020 but it has been postponed until now, also in view of the restart on 12th June from Trieste, Italy due to the pandemic disease. Her last drydock dates back to November 2017, done at Fincantieri Palermo.

She left Grand Harbour on Thursday 6th May, 2021 at 1934 hrs bound to Augusta, Sicily.
