One of the ships that used to call at Mgarr Harbour, Gozo was the 83.5 metre long coaster BEKIR HACIBEKIROGLU . She was seen several times in our territorial waters uplifting bunkers and calling twice at Valletta (Grand Harbour) in 2008 and 2015.



She was built in Spain in May 1986 by Astilleros Del Atlantico at Santander as LIDE (All Yellow) homeported at Bilbao, Spain with 2 cranes trading until November 1990, then as CATALINE LLABRES until September 1999 and BRENS homeported at Santa Cruz de Tenerife owned by Naviera Sicar from 1999 to November 2007 of which she was also J&B Whiskey Nightology Boat –
Then she was renamed as BEKIR HACIBEKIROGLU with Turkish owners. She had also 162 TEU capacity and 4,672 tons of bulk cargo capacity.



Her duration was for few hours discharging Animal Food.
