Rough weather conditions prompted EEMSLIFT HENDRIKA salvage team to postpone salvage operation on Wednesday 7th April, 2021.
“Life and health are always the number one priority in an event like this, and it must be safe to carry out the salvage,” said Norwegian Coastal Administration emergency response director Hans Petter Mortensholm in an update. Calculations show that the danger is small for the ship to run aground. Better weather is reported tomorrow, and the action is more likely to be successful.
The salvage team have reached the same decision as the captain of the 1985 built tug STADT SLOEVAGG who will start towing the 24 metre Moen Marin built salmon workboat AQS TOR worth Eur6.6 million that fell overboard with damaging crane 2 and drifted around 2 miles from the area.

At the time of writing towage is underway to Floro, Western Norway arriving on Thursday 8th April at 2300 UTC.
