Metal waste is exported in Malta and from time to time, ships call at Grand Harbour, Malta berthing at Laboratory Wharf South 2 for loading scrap iron bound to Turkey.
An interesting shipment was seen on Wednesday 10th August, 2016 with the 88 metre long Ukrainian Ship VIANO DO CASTELO.
Once she was secured at her berth she started loading, filling her holds. She was built in 1992 at Viana Do Castelo in Portugal with 4,050 as deadweight (dwt).
She left Grand Harbour on Friday 12th August, 2006 around 2030 hrs bound to Turkey.
