Container line Ocean Network Express (ONE) started two new services between North Europe and the Eastern Med and Turkey. The two new service the North Europe East Mediterranean Express (NEX) and North Europe Turkey Express (NTX) are ONE’s first direct services between the two regions.

The service rotation for the NEX service is: Southampton – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp – Le Havre – Tangier – Malta – Alexandria (Dekheila) – Damietta – Beirut – Mersin – Iskenderun – Algeciras – Southampton.
For the NTX service the rotation is: Southampton – Rotterdam – Hamburg – Antwerp – Malta – Gebze – Istanbul (Ambarli) – Gemlik – Aliaga – Tangier – Southampton.
First vessel calling at Malta Freeport during the NEX Service was the 2011 built 268 metres long container ship BILBAO BRIDGE chartered to K Line, Japan and managed by Seaspan Shipmanagent, Canada.





BILBAO BRIDGE was built in South Korea by Samsung Shipbuilding & Heavy Industries at Geoje and she has 4,520 TEU capacity.





She entered Marsaxlokk Harbour on Monday 8th February, 2021 around 1700hrs berthing at North Quay of Terminal 2 replacing APL ANTWERP who was occupying her berth.
