On Tuesday 24th April 2007 the local tug LIENI was seen towing the disabled 1972 built ship FRAU NANCY towards Grand Harbour, Malta.

FRAU NANCY was bound to Algeria when engine problems occurred and she was disabled. Local tugboat LIENI was dispatched from Grand Harbour around 2200 hrs towards her position – 20 miles north off Malta and started towing her towards Valletta.

FRAU NANCY was built in Poland by Gdansk Shipyard at Gdansk in 1972 for a short time until April 1972; REGINA until 1981; MARE NOSTRUM (of which was seen at Valletta) until December 1992 and TENACITAS until January 2004. LIENI arrived with the ship off fairway buoy, Grand Harbour around 0615 hrs when another tug MARI joined the towage steering the disabled ship from port quarter.

FRAU NANCY was secured at Parlatorio Wharf, Malta Shipyards loaded with timber as deck cargo too.

Since 8th May, 2007 she was still berthed at Parlatorio Wharf.
