One of the former Danish Shipping Company M.SMITS ship to be seen at Malta was the MIRICA L that entered Grand Harbour, Malta on Tuesday 15th January, 2008.

She was built in the Netherlands by De Groot & Van Vliet at Slikkerveer, South Holland with yard number 406 as CHRISTINA SMITS delivered on 26th November 1982 and was the third ship of a class of 6. In 3rd February 1989 she was sold to Marinus Smits, Cyprus and renamed CHRISTINA I trading until 19th April 1993 where she was sold to Carol Linda Shipping Co Ltd, Cyprus bearing the same name (in both occasions the manager was HSS Holland Ship Service BV, Netherlands). In May 1996 she was sold to Vipima Di Navigazione based in Naples, Italy and renamed as MIRICA L.

Middle May 2008 she was sold to Egyptian interests and was homeported to Avatiu as Cook Islands (COK) Flag and renamed as VECTRA with radio callsign as E5U2198 as seen in below images.

She was berthed at Pinto 3 Wharf, VISET (now Valletta Cruise Port) and she had to go in her berth as during manoeuvrability her engines stopped and tug assistance was required of which duty tug SEA SALVOR responded.
