On Saturday 7th November, 2020 around noon the Maltese owned tuna ranch workboat MAREBLU MFD 079 had an accident at Bighi Bay, Grand Harbour, Malta.
Shortly afterwards the workboat ONNELLA MFD 015 was on site together with the 14 metre tugboat GOZZO.

By attaching lifting bags to her stern since she was partially sunk (engine weight etc) it was decided that she will be towed to Rinella Bay instead of MMH to be lifted by a hoist so she was towed by ONNELLA. Same company tuna ranch workboat RICARDO F MFD 85 together with the tugboat GOZZO were also in the area as shown below in the images –

At 1425 hrs tug GOZZO was released from the operation and returned to berth.

10 minutes before MAREBLU was grounded few metres away from the quay with oil boom surrounded and Transport Malta rib in attendance.

Water pumping was all the way of which even a water tender from Civil Protection Department – Hal Far Based with Designation number as E1.12 was on site while MAREBLU was tied up to the quay and her stern was lifted by Cassar Marine Services on Monday 9th November, 2020 floating crane SEAWOLF II as per images below –
