Scrap Iron – Vessel NS SPRINTER in blue hull loading at Malta – 30.10.2020

Metal waste is exported in Malta and from time to time, ships call at Grand Harbour, Malta berthing at Laboratory Wharf South 2 for loading scrap iron bound to Turkey.

Another shipment followed – On Saturday 31st October, 2020 the 82 metre long coaster NS SPRINTER was spotted loading scrap iron in her holds.

She was built in 1992 at Hoogezand, Netherlands by Ferus Smit Scheepswerf as ZEUS trading until December 1999 where she was sold and renamed to OSTEBORG trading until September 2012. Sold again and renamed LEHMANN SPRINTER trading until 2017 where she was renamed to her current name – NS SPRINTER. She’s homeported at Panama with Panama (PAN) flag. She has a 1,999 GRT and 3,030 DWT.

First seen in Malta was in 2017 still wearing the grey hull while entering Grand Harbour, Malta for the first time back to 19th December 2017.
