EEMS WRESTLER towing DON CANDIDO – Aerial Photography

On Friday 11th September, 2020 the 1990 built tug EEMS WRESTLER towing the 1980 built ferry DON CANDIDO was photographed from the air by MALTA SHIP PHOTOS around 40 nautical miles from Gozo.

EEMS WRESTLER was built in Belgium at the Scheepswerf Van Rupelmonde at Rupelmonda as ZEEHOND for the Belgian Government in 1990 trading until last year. She’s 39.50 metres long with 10.52 beam, 399 GRT and Bollard Pull of 32 tons.

DON CANDIDO is a ferry built in 1980 by Astilleros De Santander at El Astillero as BAHIA DE MALAGA with Balearia of which she had an aground accident in December, 2004 until November 2009. She was renamed to MED DREAM trading until May 2014. She was acquired by Akgunler Isletmeleri a Turkish Company and renamed LADY SU homeported at Freetown, Sierra Leone (SLE). After encountering an engine failure in May 2019 and laid up in Seville, Spain she was finally towed by EEMS WRESTLER heading for Tuzla for repairs with the name as DON CANDIDO and flag as Saint Kitts and Nevis.
