During the pandemic disease of COVID-19 , world tourism remains at a standstill as most of the countries imposed travel restrictions. With the Ports closed including Grand Harbour due to this crisis, no cruise liners for the time being and the wharves are being used by vessels that are within territorial waters or have cargo for Malta.
One of the vessels that use the facilities is the bunkering tanker ADELIA currently berthed port side alongside Pinto 2 Wharf of which entered today at 1116 hrs coming from Bunkering Area 3.
An oil/chemical tanker she was built in China by Sopo Shipyard at Zhenjiang as the MARILENA II trading until November 2013.
