One of the former environmental organisation, Greenpeace vessel was seen in Malta back in 2001 as GONDWANA.
She was built in 1975 by Kremer Werft at Elmshorn in Germany as GORM VIKING with 1,137 GRT as an offshore Supply Ship trading until 1987 when renamed VIKING for only a year when acquired by Greenpeace renaming her as GONDWANA and refitted the ship with a helipad and accommodation space was increased to sleep 33 people since she was used to supply the Greenpeace World Park Base in 1988/89 in Antarctica which stayed until 1991 of which she traded until 1994 – https://media.greenpeace.org/archive/MV-Viking-converted-to-MV-Gondwana-27MZIFPWI21.html
Then she was renamed again to NABEEL with Nabeel Shipmanagement Ltd, based in United Arab Emirates until January 1999 and renamed again to GONDWANA with the same company.

Entering Valletta, Malta back to 31st August 2001.
Early September after mobilising at Valletta including stores, she started doing the final preparations to complete her towage which was anchored outside territorial waters (otw). Towage was the 1977 built product tanker ALDERA which was renamed to ERA for her last voyage with Cambodia Flag. She was built in Italy by Fincantieri Castellamare at Castellamare di Stabia, Italy as CAMPO DURAN until 2000 and renamed ALDERAMINE in 2001.
