After visiting several ports around the Mediterranean Sea the 1983 built Qatari dhow AL MUBARAKI called at Valletta, Malta on Friday 20th September 2019 late evening.
She berthed port side alongside at Bezzina Ship Repair Yard and on Monday 23rd September she shifted to Sliema Creek at Marsamxett Harbour. She uses also solar energy.
This traditionally dhow is travelling to several European ports to showcase the maritime history of the Gulf state as part of a tour to promote the World Cup of Football, which will take place in Qatar in 2022. The nation of Qatar is justifiably proud of their beautiful vessel, which is a faithful recreation of traditional Qatari sailboats.
