The 2019 built cruise liner MSC GRANDIOSA was denied entry to Valletta, Malta on Tuesday 10th March, 2020 with over 2,500 aboard with her last port of call was Palermo, Sicily. Image below is at 0031 hrs.
The decision was clarified by the Maltese Government with Prime Minister Dr. Robert Abela during an extraordinary news conference earlier today around 0020 hrs. The statement came a few hours after Malta confirmed its fourth case of COVID-19 with a male person who returned to the island after a holiday in the north of Italy. Image below is at 0936 hrs.
Meanwhile on Monday 9th March the Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte put the whole country on lockdown and banned gatherings, in a bid to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.
