On Saturday 4th January, 2020 the 2008 built 10,062 TEU capacity container ship COSCO PACIFIC while underway in the Arabian Sea from Port Klang, Malaysia to Nhava Sheva, India reported fire in container or containers, in a cargo hold. The ship interrupted scheduled voyage and headed for Colombo, Sri Lanka arriving there in the morning of Monday 6th January. She was berthed, containers on fire were offloaded with ship under constant monitoring until completing inspection. The ship is deployed on SEA-India-Pakistan service, quite a number of shippers are to cope with delays and schedule interruptions.
As of this morning on Tuesday 7th January COSCO PACIFIC was still berthed at Colombo.
