On Tuesday 29th October a keel laying ceremony was held at Neptun Werft for AIDAcosma, a new cruise ship ordered by Germany’s AIDA Cruises.
Once completed, the vessel will have a length of 337 metres, a beam of 42 metres, and 2,600 staterooms. It will be AIDA Cruises’ second vessel to be powered by LNG after sister ship AIDAnova, which was delivered in 2018.
AIDAcosma is scheduled to be delivered by Meyer Werft in the spring of 2021.
Lately, on Sunday 27th October the 2019 the flagship of AIDA Cruises – AIDAprima called at Valletta Cruise Port. Originally, the vessel was planned for delivery in the first half of 2015, with an inaugural trip to 22 countries, but the shipbuilder was unable to complete the ship on time and the delivery was postponed to December 2015 after several minor accidents during construction.


Today a year ago on the 5th November, 2018 she called during her maiden call at Valletta berthing at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves.
