Ferry News – Delivery of IONIAN STAR – September 2019.

The former Norwegian flag ferry BOHUS run by Color Line was spotted last Sunday 8th September, 2019 anchored at Bunkering Area 4, Malta as IONIAN STAR with PAN flag.

She was built in Danmark by Danyard Aalborg at their Aalborg yard (Yard number 190) PRINSESSAN DESIREE for Sessan Line (Rederi AB, Goteborg Frederikshavn Linjen, Sweden) until 1981, same name for Stena Sessan Line (1981), same name for B&I line (1981), same name for Sealink UK (1981), same name for Stena Line (1981-82) and same name for Sally Line (1982), EUROPAFARJAN (1983-85), EUROPAFARJAN II (1985-87), LION PRINCESS for Lion Ferry (1987-94), BOHUS for Scandi Line (1994-99), same name for Color Scandi Line (1999-2000), same name for Color Line (2000-2019).

Her passenger capacity is 1,165 pax, 126 beds and 240 cars with 462 lane metres. She was spotted at Bunkering Area anchored for bunkers and supplies during her delivery voyage to replace the 1965 built former North Sea ferry RED STAR I on the Italy to Albania route.
