During middle June 2019 the 2003 Chinese built Bingo 9000 type semi submersible drilling rig EIRIK RAUDE was towed from Astakos, Greece bound to Aliaga, Turkey for breakers. In fact ALP CENTRE arrived at Astakos on Tuesday 18th June.
EIRIK RAUDE was built by Dalian New Shipbuilding Heavy Industry at Dalian in China as a 5th Generation Deep Water ssdr with her homeport as Nassau with Bahamas (BHS) flag. During May/June 2016 she was towed from Las Palmas to Astakos by ALP WINGER of which on Friday 10th June 2016 she passed Malta.
On 20th November 2017 she broke loose from her moorings due to very strong winds whilst laid up at Platygiali Terminal at Astakos Port, Greece. The platform drifted from Berth No 2 to Berth No 6 causing damage to fenders and collided with boat ALKYON and pilot boat PILOT I. In fact Tsavliris tugboats HERMES and HERMES I mobilised from Patras and during 22nd November they secured the platform back to her Berth no 2 thus completing the operation.
