Valletta Cruise Port plc (formerly VISET Malta plc) is a limited liability company which took over the cruise and ferry terminal operations following an international tender issued by the Government of Malta in 1996. Valletta Cruise Port was awarded the project and the formal agreement was signed on the 23rd of November 2001. Valletta Cruise Port, a subsidiary of Global Ports Holding, had the opportunity to meet industry professionals and discuss future prospects. According to figures shared by the Cruise Line International Association (CLIA) 28.5 million guests cruised in 2018, a 7% increase over 2017, with the Mediterranean region moving up in popularity by 8% from 2017 to 2018 in terms of sailings. In 2018 Valletta handled 3% of total passenger movements in the Mediterranean at 711,000 passenger movements: furthermore, Valletta processed 3% of total transit figures, and 2% of homeport figures.

From 0309 to 2220 hrs the MEIN SCHIFF HERZ berthed at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves starboard side alongside coming from Catania, Sicily.

Coming from Messina, Sicily the 2019 built MLT flag cruise liner MSC BELLISSIMA entered Valletta at 0710 hrs berthing at Pinto 1 and 2 wharves.
Around noon the so called NGO rescue vessel LIFELINE shifted from Wine Wharf to Gun Wharf.

An interesting vessel calling at VCP berthing at Pinto 3 Wharf for few hours for crew change, bunkers and stores was the 2011 built dutch pipe burying vessel STORNES entering harbour at 1802 hrs.
