On Tuesday 15th October 2013 the 204m cruise liner PRINSENDAM entered Valletta bound to Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd assisted by two local tugs for Dock 6.
She was built at STX Finland Helsinki at Helsinki in Finland in 1988 as ROYAL VIKING SUN of which she traded until sold and renamed SEABOURN SUN until November 1999 and was sold again bearing her present name in June 2002
It was her second time in this Dock – First time was when she grounded on a coral reed in the Red Sea and started taking water in the Gulf of Aqaba when she was ROYAL VIKING SUN with Cunard during middle 90’s.
Interesting that 2 days later – Thursday 17th October the 1996 built cruise liner ROTTERDAM was inside Valletta during a scheduled Port of Call.
