On Friday 26th October at 1632 hrs the 304m mother container ship YORK entered Valletta coming from Gioia Tauro, Italy bound to Palumbo Malta Shipyard Ltd assisted by four local tugs for Dock 6.
She was built at the Hyundai Heavy Industries (HHI) at Ulsan in South Korea in 2000 and was delivered as SEALAND NEW YORK in Maersk Livery.
She entered harbour with SEALAND NEW painted over and homeported at Monrovia, Liberia
While she was afloat at Dock 6, her livery was changed to Black as she finished charter with Maersk and the new charter is MSC now.
On Thursday 1st November her departure was cancelled after 1645 hrs due to daylight restrictions from the duty pilot.
On Friday 2nd November her 0700 hrs departure was on time with duty pilots and local tugs.
