Fire broke out in separate incidents aboard two Halifax class frigates of the Royal Canadian Navy that are currently deployed off Europe.
The first incident took place on Friday, October 26th, when a reportedly minor blaze erupted in the gas turbine engine of HMCS HALIFAX FFH 330 while the ship was in Norwegian waters. The fire was quickly extinguished.
The second incident occurred three days later, October 29th , on her sister – HMCS TORONTO FFH 333 . A small fire erupted on the frigate as she was proceeding to Belfast for repairs after experiencing a power loss off the coast of the United Kingdom. No one was injured in both accidents.
