Naval News from Canada – LCS 11 USS SIOUX CITY – 28.10.2018

On Sunday 28th October 2018 the 1973 built CAN flag and owned tugboat OCEAN A GAUTHIER was seen assisting the Freedom Class Littoral Combat Ship of the United States Navy – USS SIOUX CITY LCS 11 at Welland Canal. She was coming down from Detroit River ( The Detroit River flows for 24 nautical miles from Lake St. Clair to Lake Erie as a strait in the Great Lakes system and forms part of the border between Canada and the United States. The river divides the metropolitan areas of Detroit, Michigan, and Windsor, Ontario—an area referred to as Detroit–Windsor) and berthed at Detroit, Michigan on Thursday 25th October 2018 after she left shipyard in Marinette where she was built at Fincantieri Marinette Marine heading off the lakes.

Earlier today she started her voyage heading to Maryland for commissioning and then to the Persian Gulf.
