Breaking Up – 1974 built bunkering tanker SACRO CUOR I – 2018

The Polish built tanker SACRO CUOR I was seen in pieces at the breakers at Aliaga, Turkey early October 2018.

She was built in 1974 by Odratans Shipyard at Wroclaw, at Poland as SMEREK when she was sold and renamed BORGTANK until March 1995, sold again during March 1996 and renamed SIDDISEN of which until May 2006 she was purchased by Cassar Fuels Ltd, Malta and renamed SACRO CUOR I. In fact she arrived as Blue Hull as seen below in the images back to 24th May 2006 berthed at DWQ 2 Wharf.

On Tuesday 27th November 2007 she was the first bunker barge to bunker a Superyacht (SAMAR) at Grand Harbour Marina as per image below –

From 2006 up to 2017 she conducted lots of bunkering operations from yachts to Oil Rigs etc as we can see below –

During 2018 she was laid up at Church Wharf, Marsa as seen below image dated 24th January, 2018 –

And a sad sight with all images taken at Aliaga, Turkey with kind permission from Capt. Selim San during 10th October 2018.
