ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION – AFM Rescues 100 Migrants – 22.08.2018

An AFM Protector Class OPV P 52 rescued 100 migrants from a boat 68 miles south of Malta early on Wednesday 22nd August,2018.

Two persons had already passed away by the time rescuers reached the boat, which was taking in water and in imminent danger of sinking, the AFM said. The migrants were brought to Malta on Wednesday afternoon at the Maritime Squadron base at Haywharf.
